archive-R™ is a powerful yet easy-to-use program designed to archive any digital assets into a single file that can be easily restored using the free archive-R restoration module. The archive-R restoration module allows you maximum flexibility in sharing and moving projects with user controls such as archive project only, archive projects and media, and drive mapping that allows you to restore your projects to the drive you select with the available space. archive-R also includes auditing tools (restoration summary and hash value reports) so you have confidence that the files you restored are the files you archived. In one simple archive process, archive-R allows you to archive to a hard drive, burn to removable media, and remove the original archived files from your system.

Avid Projects - How to archive an Avid project. archive-R™ is OMF/MXF compatible. Launch archive-R and it will scan your system including any external or networked drives. Once complete archive-R will display your Avid projects and all their associated project files including settings, bins, media, attics, statistics and even the Avid trash bin. When you're ready to archive an Avid project, simply highlight the project and all the associated Avid files will be displayed in an easy-to-follow graphical Archive Content window organized by Avid Files, Media Files and Auxiliary Files. If you would like to include non-Avid digital files in your archive, such as case notes, DVR proprietary players, still images, or ClearID projects, simply drag-n-drop them into the archive-R Miscellaneous Files folder and they will be included. When it comes time to restore your project, archive-R can restore all our asset to their original location or you can use the archive-R drive mapping feature to place your assets to your desired location. archive-R allows you to redirect files at the drive, folder or files level for complete control and flexibility.

Non-Avid Projects - archive-R also provides you the ability to archive non-Avid based projects using our
Drag & Drop Projects feature. Drag & Drop Projects allow you to archive any digital media files you want. This is ideal for Forensic Video Analysts working on DVR/ClearID cases they didn't import into Avid.
